Day at the Zoo

I got a call from a friend of a friend, and she wanted me to take some pictures of her and her daughter at the zoo. So...I packed up all of my stuff, and took off to the zoo! This little girl is just BEAUTIFUL!! She is so sassy to. You can see just how much her mom loves her in these pictures! I had a blast doing these!! Hope you enjoy them, just as much as I enjoyed taking them!

In March I was able to go to Washington State for a 2 week visit! I had never been that far away from home! Well....it was SO worth the almost 7 hours of flying to get there! I took almost 300 pictures!! There was no way to put all of them on here, so I am adding my favorites!! Hope you guys enjoy them, and if you ever get the chance to go to Seattle....GO!! It's well worth it! We were able to go to Pikes Market, where the Original Starbucks is located, we saw the "gum wall" (it was gross and cool all at the same time!). We also were able to go to a place called Northwest Trek, it's like an open zoo! They had free range animals (not the dangerous ones of course!), it was really cool! We drove down to Portland Oregon one day, we had to go to Voodoo Doughnuts...that was quite interesting!! This is the first time I am attempting to do a slide show, enjoy the pictures!

This was on the way home from Portland Oregon. It was BEAUTIFUL!

This is typical of Washington State! It is really beautiful.

The view from our hotel in Seattle. I love the little "yard" on the roof of the building behind us!

I LOVE this picture! I could look at it forever!

Poppies New Toy!

Boys will NEVER grow up! From 2 to 200 they will all still love to play with toys! My grandfather purchased himself a new toy! A Fully restored 1939 A John Deere Tractor! In great working condition might I add! My dad called me and told me to bring my camera and come down to my grandparents house to take pictures of "poppies new toy"! So, I grabbed my camera and took off! When I got there, they were all surrounding this big green tractor...it looked like bunch of boys on the playground looking at a bug on the ground. They were all huddled around the tractor just oohhing and aaahhhing!! My dad got my to record a video of him cranking the tractor. You have to push in this lever, pull this one, and turn a crank to start the thing up! When it started "popping" my dad got the biggest candy eating smile on his face! It actually was really cute to see a 50 year old man get that excited over something like that! My Grandpa was the same way! You should have seen that 78 year old man climbing on top of that John Deere! So, from the Oldest to the Youngest, each one of those crazy, wonderful men in my family got there turn on the new toy...It was quite a day at Poppies house!! ....Men!!! ;-)

4 Christmases

That's right, I got to celebrate Christmas 4 times!!! It was awesome! I got to spend Christmas eve, and Christmas day filled with family, good food, and awesome memories!! Every Christmas eve we get together at my Great-Grandmothers house. Now a days there are upwards of 95 of us converging on the old house! We eat, and enjoy each others company and around 10pm we start divvying up the loot! The grands, great grands and even great-great grands love it! Then on Christmas morning, we open presents at our respective homes, than we are at it again! We go to my Maternal Grandmother's house for breakfast, every year consisting of Bacon, Sausage, Eggs, Biscuits, Gravy, Grits, and of course cheese...and a LARGE pot of never ending Coffee! Then once all the excitement dulls to just a small roar, we all disperse to the next event! In our case it's my Paternal Grandparent's home! This year we had the pleasure (thanks to one of my new uncles) to have fresh seafood for Christmas Lunch! We had a Beaufort stew, and a cooler FULL of oysters!! MMMMM!!! Each year as I get older, I realize just how special and wonderful Christmas is. With the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and just being with Family! Making memories, sharing stories, I am truly blessed to have such an awesome family to get to spend my Christmases with!
